"STREAMER COFFEE COMPANY", a pioneering new wave coffee shop in Japan, is visited by many fans from all over the world.
Since opening the their first store in Shibuya in 2010, their world-class baristas with world-class skills established the original coffee culture called "Extreme Style."
Also, they areThey were the first to develop their own cold brew and draft nitro iced latte in Japan and are well known as the coffee shop that uniquely conveys thefor delivering the best cup of coffee from expertly roasted beans.
In addition, they incorporate elements such as extreme sports, music, and art, making them more than just a coffee shop, they . They are gaining popularity as a source of comprehensive trend culture.
The location of this project, Akasaka in Tokyo, is one of the best business areas ina bustling business area in Tokyo during the daytimeby day, and on the other hand, a city lined with high-end restaurants at night.
Therefore, unlike a regular STREAMER COFFEE COMPANY ,store, the new store is designed as a cafe during the day and a bar at night as a management collaboration between and is collaborative and managed by STREAMER COFFEE COMPANY and REVOLVER BOOZE&COFFEE.
In this situation, LOG.DESIGN's challenge was to considered that the important point is to differentiate it this store from other stores in Akasaka.
Thus, while maintaining a connection between day and night, we designed to express different distinct atmospheres for each time of day.
As a cafe in the business district during daytime, we tried to design it for a broad audience and not just for those interested in street culture, which is the main target of STREAMER COFFEE COMPANY. To achieve this, we created a clean and simple space by using light gray tonal balance to blend in with the city.
When operating as a bar at night, a movable box behind the counter slides out to reveal a wooden shelf for displaying bottles and glasses.
The indirect lighting installed on the shelves effectively illuminates the bottles and glasses and transforms the space from a cafe to a bar.
In addition, due to the effect of indirect lighting during day time, the logo sign on the movable box will shine.
The front sign of the facade uses different materials and designs to express the brand's dual nature: day and night.
Mirroring Akasaka's transformation from a business area by day into a vibrant atmosphere at night, we have created a unique and dual-faceted space for STREAMER COFFEE COMPANY, thanks to effective indirect lighting and innovative mechanical shelves behind the counter that conceal and reveal bottles and glasses.
