SEA ROOM LYNN's new store is located on the ground floor of PARCO, a department store in Nagoya.
Nagoya City is the fourth most populous city in Japan and was selected as one of "THE WORLD'S GREATEST PLACES OF 2023" by TIME USA.
Parco, a chain of department stores, has long been popular as a place to discover the latest cultural trends such as fashion and art in many of Japan's urban areas.
The new store, which is located on the ground floor of Nagoya PARCO where caters to the needs of a trend-savvy customers and is more than such highly sensitive people gather, is not just a clothing store., It is designed but is required to illustrate a concept that captures resonates with contemporary the needs of the times throughout the its space.
Based on the SEA ROOM LYNN's story: a lifestyle brand for dignified women who love the sea and the city, the new store introduces the “Grace Retreat” concept, is designed todesigned to involve evoke an atmosphere of calmness and deep strength. that we defined "Grace Retreat" as a new concept. "Grace Retreat" originates from the idea of creating inspiration that supports inspires self-improvement as well as offering a welcoming space close to the to visitorscustomers.
To achieve this, we designed a composite atmosphere that merges the openness of a spacious villa with the subtle tension of an art gallery. Such a composite atmosphere encourages customers to step away from daily life. The design purpose of this store to be a sanctuary where customers can be free from their daily busyness and stress.
The counter stands out with a large block of stainless steel, and the space is partitioned with walls made of mortar and glass blocks.
In contrast, the fitting room utilizes wood-grain partitions with no corners, blending soft elements to create a sophisticated atmosphere.
The main tables that customers touch as soon as they enter the store are made of solid wood.
While the mortar walls, floor, and glass block elements of the legs have a solid texture, the natural texture of the solid wood with reduced corners enhances the softness of the space.
Two pillars in the store seem like blind spots at first glance, but the stainless steel mirror enhances the curved layout.
